I live on a small farm smack dab in the middle of nowhere, and grew up riding sheep, playing Indian with my three brothers, riding four wheeler, taking care of the animals, and running a handful of different businesses. I sold eggs, sold baked goods at farmer's markets, sold animals, and generally made out like a bandit. ;)
Then I graduated from high school, and shortly after went through several months of hard. God brought me to the point where He was the only One left I could put my trust in - and that was a really tough, but really good place to be at. Committing my life to follow Jesus was the hardest and best decision I ever made! He is so faithful, and I realize more and more every day how much I don't deserve His grace, forgiveness, and overwhelming goodness to me.
Also, I like coffee a lot.
Since then, life has thrown a lot of new opportunities at me. It's crazy and overwhelming sometimes, but I am waaaaay blessed, and I love it. I'm currently working at a local coffee shop, and the barista life suits me perfectly. I teach piano, babysit, help out with the family business raising Great Pyrenees, and am working towards my degree in music. I am really good at biting off more than I can chew, getting lost everywhere I go, diving headfirst into new ideas, and drinking coffee. I love country music, Jane Austen movies, good books, writing, spending time with the people I love, and staying over-my-head-busy.
I'm blessed with an amazing, encouraging, supportive family. Spoiled only girl, and have referred to my brothers and myself as "us boys" on more than one occasion. These people mean the world to me and I honestly don't know what I'd do without them.
And then there's this guy that I get to call my boyfriend. His name is Joe, and he's the best. He loves Jesus, he's funny, he's tall, he's handsome, he's crazy, he's pretty romantic ;), he buys me chocolate and coffee mugs and coffee (way to my heart), he works like crazy and is going to college, and....he shares my love of coffee. We met in January of 2015 when he dropped a pickup line on me, snagged my number, and a few days later when we talked til 2am, I found out that I really liked this guy. We started dating in May, and are beyond excited for whatever God has in store for our relationship! I'm so thankful to have such a godly, encouraging guy in my life who challenges me to seek the Lord first. It's been a wonderful adventure, and there's no one else I'd rather be on it with.
Plus, every short girl needs a tall guy!
Most importantly, though, I love Jesus. He has saved me and given me hope, purpose, and something to live for. I am sooooo, so very far from perfect and I fail miserably every. single. day. But He is always there, and somehow He loves me anyways. My goal in life is to make a difference for Him. I want to be a follower of Jesus, and hear "well done, thou good and faithful servant" at the end. So, join me and my little blog as we go through this awesomely exciting adventure called life!
